OUR BRAND NEW WORKSHOP FOR 2026 INSPIRED BY THE AWARD WINNING COLLECTION 'AFTER THE FIRE'
Take your silver clay jewellery making to another level and create your very own Golden Afterglow Bracelet or Necklace under the expert tuition of award winning designers, Richard Allen and Lesley Willard.
Based on the award winning collection, After the Fire, Richard and Lesley will guide you, step by step, through the intricate process of creating this amazing piece of jewellery. After the Fire was awarded Collection of the Year in The Professional Jeweller Awards 2025 and the Golden Afterglow Bracelet is every bit as luxurious as the name suggests.
For this masterclass, you will be using fine silver clay and Argentium to create the bracelet and learning all about our trademark texturing and detailing techniques before experiencing the ancient Korean art of Keum Boo to add 24ct gold accents to your work.

This amazing masterclass introduces you to some of our techniques for texturing and conditioning silver clay that is thinner and more delicate than many projects will have you working at.
You will be:
Creating your base components with acuracy and precision and refining silver clay that is super delicate.
Shaping and drilling everything by hand with the utmost care and control.
Working with our signature detailing and polishing.
Applying 24ct gold accents to your own design using the Keum Boo technique.
Assembling the whole piece using Argentium findings and fusing the jump rings for added strength and stability.
Finishing your amazing bracelet or necklace with a 'Lavinia Style' polish ready for inspection and assessment.
ALL THE OTHER STUFF
This workshop takes place over 2 days at our studio in Hull. Day 1 will run from 9.30am-5.00pm (approx) and Day 2 will run from 9.30-4pm (approx).
Silver clay, 24ct gold foil and argentium findings are included in the course fee. However, if your take on Golden Afterglow requires more than is provided then there will be more silver and gold available for you to buy on the day at class discounted prices.
The workshop is restricted to over 18's only due to the use of specific tools and equipment.
The course fee does not include overnight accommodation nor meals but we can recommend several hotels and guest houses that are within a short travelling distance to the studio.
Whilst our finish time on Day 1 is scheduled for 5.00pm, this is not set in stone. The pieces have to be at a particular stage ready to be fired overnight and if anyone is a little behind and needs more time then that's fine.
All tools and materials required for this masterclass are available in the studio to use but please feel free to bring your own especially if you have old faithfuls that you are more comfortable using.
