Join us for an amazing jewellery making experience and discover the magic of ring making with silver clay. In this 6 hour exclusive workshop you will get to make your version of Richard Allen's 'Estuaries Hex Ring', a design that has been showcased in London's Hatton Garden. Location: Pepper Tree Studio Studio 2 433 Hedon Road Hull HU9 1RA Dates and times below. Level: Some experience of working with silver clay. Come and join us for a superb introduction to ring making with silver clay. If you've ever wanted to learn how to make your own silver ring then this workshop is for you. During a packed 6 hours you will learn all about the basics of working with silver clay including setting up your work station, preparation, texturing and drying. So no previous experience needed. From there you will learn how to create your own silver hex ring based on Richard's ever popular Estuaries Hex Ring. You'll learn how to size it, shape and texture it. And, once it's been fired in a kiln, you will be shown how to polish and finish your work ready to take home. All tools, materials and silver clay are provided so there's no need to bring anything with you. Age 12 + Under 16's to be accompanied by an adult. The session will guide you, step by step and you’ll learn the following skills: Setting up your workstation Handling and how to store the clay. How to add textures How to shape and cut the clay. How to dry and refine your pieces Joining silver clay components Learn about the different firing methods How to polish and finish your pieces. Everything we make in the session will be fired in the kiln and, although we have a strict firing schedule, there will be plenty of making time and plenty of time to polish and finish your jewellery. Whilst our pieces are being fired, we will do a demonstration on torch firing silver clay jewellery.
